چکیده

-The Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) waveform is the most commonly and extensively used signal in practical radar system. This paper introduces a new scheme of Piecewise Nonlinear Frequency Modulation (PNFM) for generating good code sets. Each code set has good autocorrelation with small peak sidelobes and cross-correlation. A weighting function is usually applied in order to reduce the sidelobes. In an effort to achieve low autocorrelation sidelobe level without applying weighting function, PNFM signal has been investigated. The new class codes is shown to have good ambiguity function with the ability to tolerate a realistic range of Doppler shift. At the receiver a matched filter is used which improvement in Doppler detection with good SNR.

Waveform Design using Second Order Cone Programming in Radar Systems

Transmit waveform design is one of the most important problems in active sensing and communication systems. This problem, due to the complexity and non-convexity, has been always the main topic of many papers for the decades. However, still an optimal solution which guarantees a global minimum for this multi-variable optimization problem is not found. In this paper, we propose an attracting met...

A New Biphase Coding LFM for Pulse Compression Radar

Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) waveform becomes widespread in modern pulse compression radar systems in order to improve its target range resolution capability. Conventional LFM based on varying the waveform frequency linearly within the radar pulse width which leads to high Auto Correlation Function (ACF) with limited compression ratio (CR) and side lobe level (SLL). This paper proposed Opt...

Complete Complementary Sequence Coding Waveform Based Azimuth Multi-channel Space-borne Sar with Ultra-low Range Sidelobe Ratio Performance

Sidelobes of strong targets substantially impact image quality of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) using linear frequency modulation (LFM) waveform, especially in urban areas. A novel space-borne azimuth multi-channel SAR scheme with ultra-low range sidelobe-ratio (RSLR) performance was proposed, employing complete complementary sequence (CC-S) coding waveform. The CC-S waveform was utilized to a...

Good practical continuous waveform for active bistatic radar

In monostatic continuous wave (CW) radar the dominant waveform is periodic linear frequency modulation, mostly because its stretch processing requires sampling rate much lower than the bandwidth. In a bistatic scene a clean copy of the transmitted signal, required in stretch processing, is not available to the receiver. That opens the competition for other periodic waveforms. The authors study ...
